The 2nd day in Melbourne began with us taking our new hosts out to brunch. I figured we owed them as much after the lost bag drama we brought them the night before. From their place we walked to Sir Charles, an upbeat restaurant that served generous portions of only healthy whole foods that was located on Brunswick street. It had a clean farm to table kinda vibe and OMG, this place was amazing! I wanted to try something new so I just order something and it blew my mind. We’re talking goliath portions of super fresh vegetables and meats. Totally recommend this place for anyone passing through Melbourne, if even for a day.
After our meal, we parted ways with Curt & Rox to explore all that Brunswick Street had to offer. For those who don’t know, Brunswick Street is THE street for small artisan shops, cafes and great food (and absolutely no chains)! We were so mesmerized and plugged into our atmosphere we barely took any pictures for you guys. Along our walk we met a nice old man that had a blanket on the ground with several philosophy books Jordan had been in search of, bought’em! We also got Ash a new swimsuit to soak up some that Australian sun, and even walked in a few novelty stores.

One of the amazing things about Australia is that everyone seemed to love botany. We walked in a few botanists shops and were blown away with how busy and crowded they were with locals. I mean, it was normal to have flowers and live plants! (It totally is by the way) This street is flooded with metal workers, writers, soap makers, unique designers and local restaurants. Too much to do in one day.
Leaving for this trip, we decided to dedicate ourselves to choose to walk from place to place when reasonable. So we ended up walking all the way downtown to the river, stopping at a really neat bar right on the water. This little section of town was jammin’ on a Saturday afternoon, and literally I mean jammin’! There was loud chill house music playing’ with lots of bass, it created a really unique atmosphere, right on the river. There were parks surrounding the river where people lay out, sun bathing just as if they were at the beach. After a long day of walking, we finished the night off getting some food at the market to cook at home. Chicken, mushrooms, kale and seasoned indian bread. All-in-all, great day on Brunswick St and Downtown.
