The Great Stairway

By on February 26, 2016

Today we took the two hours train to the Blue Mountains. During this beautiful train ride of the Australian countryside we had much time to reflect. Why didn’t we do this earlier? Man, we could so move out here. And man Do we miss Zaedyn. However, we have been getting our dog fix. It seems that everyone in Sydney has at least 2 small dogs and 95% of the time the dogs are not on a leash. We thought about starting a photo series of dogs since we miss Zae so much, but haven’t really made moves toward it.

Arriving in the Blue Mountains, we walked about 2.5 miles to the mountain edge since we didn’t want to pay for the bus. We witnessed the 3 sisters, one of Australia’s big landmarks and took a 3 hour bush walk down the trails. All access to the trails were down The Great Stairway. And boy was this a GREAT STAIRWAY. Maybe no more than 24 inches in width and the steepest stairs i’ve ever seen. We were literally walking straight down! There’s a bunch of video footage of it, but we probably won’t get around to editing until we get back. Older people along the top quarter were standing pinned against the wall, changing their mind after experiencing the intense leg workout and most likely some vertigo. The stairs just kept going… and going… and going… and going… It literally felt like we scaled down the whole damn mountain with stairs.
